Joel 1:3
You know when you sit down with a good book and suddenly you are finding on the first page that you ARE the character?  The visions play in your mind as if watching the scenes dance on screen and you are immersed in the feeling "Hey, that's me!  That's how I feel!"

Ruins Restored has done exactly that.  The poetic value is stellar and God has truly gifted this band with words.  Not only that but the music is like a fantastic score to a movie full of imagery so that it lifts it up - high and soaring!

Haven't we all felt like an "ancient traveler" going through this world as a "dry and hostile land" - a world that has "no comfort for the beaten down"?

Haven't we all felt like we are just ever so close to figuring things out but yet so far away?  What we all need to know is that He is waiting to put His arms around us because He already has it figured out -     for you and for me.

Ruins Restored truly hit the mark of our human nature as they remind us in "Traveler" that when we "have given up everything mine" that is when we are free from trying to fix everything and trying to make our own peace.  It really is a choice - we must surrender.

This song is one of the best we have ever heard when it comes to the ability to not only connect with the listener on that personal level but also captivate the listener.  You can't help but find yourself singing it over and over!

Interview below...
7Cubed: Knowing that many artists meet many mountains to climb, what has been the most challenging thing in your career journeys? How did God help you through them?

RR: " I think we can agree on being able to promote our music in a way that can relate to as many people as possible without turning them away at first listen. We want to inspire hope and understanding and that we do love our listeners. We prayed for direction and sought Godly counsel and found out we need to go out and preach to the world. Not in a shoving or pushing way, but through faith, love, and trusting God will be there to grow the seed that we plant in His name. And trust me, He has shown up in many ways and I have heard of many people getting saved outside of the church realm that don’t do the church thing and would not have heard the gospel otherwise. God is so good!"

7Cubed: Who are the artists and what are the songs that have inspired you in your life?

RR: "We really like what Red, Disciple, Flyleaf, Skillet and others like that are doing by going out into the world and spreading the love of Christ. We have had the opportunity to share the stage with many bands including Disciple. It’s a great feeling to be able to rock a show with bands you grew up listening to."

7Cubed: Is there an inspiring story of how the Lord worked through your talents as artists to impact your lives or the lives of others that you want to share with our readers?

RR: "David Coleman, drummer, has heard many of his friends tell him that because of what they see in him, not that he is shoving the Bible down their throat but just being there really wanted them to know more about what he has. He has had the opportunity to pray the prayer of salvation with many kids and its because of the opportunities while in Ruins Restored. He is a very thankful individual and really has a heart for music. Daniel Riley, guitarist, has been able to mentor kids after shows as they want to learn about his guitar abilities but by the end of the conversation find that he is a man of God. Its such a great chance we have now to really spread Christ where it would more than likely not be heard. We pray God continues us in His will and allows us to do as much as He sees fit.

We want to thank 7Cubed for allowing us to share our views and thoughts in this interview and pray God continues to bless your ministry! EYES TO THE SKIES!"

7Cubed: Thanks guys!  We appreciate the great interview and we truly appreciate your willingness to surrender all to Him that gives you talent to reach the masses.  We are praying for your efforts and your journeys.  Until we meet again...

As soon as we heard the song "Traveler" we knew that it was going to evoke passion in the listeners  - just as it did in the band... it's obvious.  There are many good songs in the world, but it is a rare treat when you hear a song that has massive emotional energy that captures pure personal imagery.  You know when you sit down with a good book and suddenly you are finding on the first page that you ARE the character?  The visions play in your mind as if watching the scenes dance on screen and you are immersed in the feeling "Hey, that's me!  That's how I feel!"

7Cubed: Hey guys! Thanks so much for talking with us. We'll get the easy question out first...ha!... We'd like to know the story behind your band name - it's cool!

RR: "Well, Jason Kirk, bassist, actually was one of the ones behind the band name. It was taken from Isaiah 44:26, “I will restore all your ruins." It was just something that fit. We all have had a piece of us feel ruined or tarnished and we want everyone to know you can be Restored."

7Cubed: We wonder who writes most of the lyrics and music, and if that usually turns into a collaborative effort?

RR: "Eric Abney, lead vocalist, does a lot of the lyrics and the band has a collaborative effort on the music. We are very excited about the new music we are working on now which really expresses all of our musical energy."

7Cubed: The powerful metaphor behind the song "Traveler" came to you how?

RR: "Eric was in college at the time this song was written and really struggling with all the tasks and daily struggles of college. He just kept hope and believing that it will get better and there is a reason for all the turmoil he went through. We just want everyone to know there is something more out there, something much bigger than their problems."
